Botox

Facial lines and wrinkles are caused by muscle contraction every time you smile or frown. The more expressive you are, the deeper these wrinkles are likely to be.

Botox temporarily relaxes the muscles under the skin so that when you frown or smile, the botox treated muscles stay relaxed and the skin remains free of wrinkles.

It is clinically accepted that botox treatment is extremely safe, effective and requires no down time!!

What Is Botox?

BOTOX® is a purified protein, which reduces the activity of the facial muscles that cause lines and wrinkles to form over time.

With botox the face can be “sculpted” by raising or lowering eyebrows, by softening the jaw line and the neck bands to enhance your look.

Your Experience

The botox procedure consists of a few injections in the target area using acupuncture-like needles. It takes only few minutes, little discomfort and no down time.

The Future

The botox treatment will gradually wear off after 3-4 months. If the face is re-treated as soon as the muscles start to move, the facial muscles never regain their “memory”. After a number of re-treatments the interval between treatments is longer.

Side Effects

Very rarely patients may notice a slight short-term asymmetry between eyebrows. This is rectified a couple of weeks after the treatment with a 'touch-up' botox treatment. You may get a slight bruise at the injection site and rarely headache is reported. Please report any side effects immediately.

P.S. Beware the Bargain Botox

Your face and your health are not something you want to risk for the sake of few pounds. Stories abound of bogus Botox injectors offering this treatment at impossibly low prices. The old adage, "...sounds too good to be true..." is a good one to pay attention to.

Remember, although it is a cosmetic treatment it is a prescription only medicine and can only be performed by medical doctors and nurses with power to prescribe. Ask who is performing the treatment and their qualifications.
